Lake Manyara
Oasis at the Great Rift Valley
Lake Manyara offers a variety of safari options, including classic vehicle rides, walking tours and even night safaris that allow you to observe the park's nightlife. Due to the relatively small number of visitors, you can enjoy a quieter and more intimate safari experience here than in some of the larger parks.

Lake Manyara: The Hidden Treasure of Tanzania
Lake Manyara, a picturesque lake located in northern Tanzania, is one of the country's most breathtaking natural treasures. Covering an area of approximately 330 km², two thirds of which is covered by the lake itself, this national park offers a fascinating combination of diverse landscapes, rich fauna and a tranquil atmosphere.

Grassy plains and a large lake.
Lake Manyara is situated at the foot of the Great Rift Valley, creating a dramatic backdrop for the park. The landscape here is extremely diverse, ranging from dense forests and grassy plains to swamps and a vast lake.
The park is famous for its underground springs, which create green oases in an otherwise arid environment. It covers an area of approximately 330 km², two thirds of which is covered by the lake itself.

Lake Manyara is a place where nature and tranquillity combine in harmony, from the vast lakes to the shady hideouts of the tree lions.

Home of "tree lions" and flamingos
Although Lake Manyara is smaller than some of Tanzania's other parks, it is home to a staggering amount of wildlife. The park is especially famous for its "tree lions," which are lions that climb into the canopy of acacia trees to escape the heat and insects on the ground.
In addition to lions, you can see elephants, hippos, zebras, giraffes and various species of antelope. The lake is also a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 400 species of birds, including pink flamingos, pelicans and kingfishers.
